Agustí Torelló Mata is a family winery from the Penedès area, nestled in the heart of the Cava denominación de origen, founded in 1950 by Agustí Torelló Mata himself. From the very beginning, the estate committed to artisanal winemaking and a deep connection to the land, working primarily with the indigenous varieties macabeo, xarel·lo and parellada, grown in the family's own vineyards. The winery's philosophy revolves around patience and precision: its sparkling wines undergo ageing in the cellar well beyond the minimum requirements set by the denomination, resulting in cavas of remarkable complexity, depth and finesse. Among its most celebrated creations is Kripta, a vintage Gran Reserva cava presented in an exclusive amphora-shaped bottle that has become one of the most iconic and award-winning cavas in Spain. Equally praised are Barrica, a cava aged in oak barrels during its maturation process, and the Gran Reserva Brut Nature, a benchmark wine for its elegance and vibrant freshness. Agustí Torelló Mata has been a pioneer in championing high-quality cava and promoting vintage and long-aged expressions, playing a decisive role in raising the international profile of the denomination.
