Few wine regions evoke the romance of the Mediterranean quite like Côtes de Provence. Stretching across sun-drenched hillsides in the south of France, this celebrated appellation is home to some of the world's most refined rosés, alongside characterful whites and reds that reward those willing to look beyond the blush. At Mercado 46, we have handpicked a selection of bottles that genuinely reflect the terroir-driven elegance this AOC is known for — bright minerality, restrained fruit and that unmistakable Provençal finesse. Whether you are a seasoned enthusiast or simply curious, there is something here worth uncorking.

Ver todos los vinos Understanding the Côtes de Provence Appellation
Established as a full AOC in 1977, Côtes de Provence is the largest appellation in Provence, covering over 20,000 hectares of vineyards between the Mediterranean coast and the foothills of the Var. The terroir is gloriously varied — limestone, schist and sandy soils combine with a dry, sun-drenched climate tempered by the famous mistral wind — and this diversity is precisely what makes the wines so compelling. Yields are kept in check, and the best producers approach viticulture with a rigour that would not look out of place in Burgundy.
While the appellation's reputation rests squarely on its rosés — pale, Grenache-led, with a mouthfeel that is simultaneously silky and fresh — serious drinkers know there is far more to explore. Whites from Rolle (Vermentino) and Clairette offer aromatic complexity and a crisp, mineral-edged finish, while the reds, built on Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault, can be genuinely age-worthy in the right hands.
What's in the Bottle: Highlights from Our Selection
Our current range centres on two carefully chosen labels. The Côtes de Provence "Orsuro" 2025 from Mathilde Selection is a pristine young wine that leads with fresh red berry fruit — strawberry, raspberry — before giving way to a clean, mineral finish that lingers pleasantly. It is the sort of bottle that disappears at lunch and is immediately missed. The Cuvée Madame from Contemporary Wines AB (2024 vintage) takes a more nuanced approach: layered on the nose, with a structured mouthfeel and an aromatic complexity that speaks to the quality of fruit selection. Both sit comfortably in the 14.5€–17.5€ range, making them accessible without compromising on ambition.
Food Pairing Notes
Provençal rosés are among the most food-friendly wines you can pour. They cut through the richness of aioli and rouille, lift a simple salade niçoise and hold their own alongside grilled sea bass or a plate of charcuterie. The whites are a natural match for shellfish — langoustines, clams, oysters — as well as soft goat's cheese and herb-flecked tapenade. If you venture into the reds, think slow-cooked lamb, braised boar or a well-aged Comté.
At Mercado 46, every bottle is selected with the same care you would expect from a specialist merchant. Browse our Côtes de Provence range and find your next great discovery.
